President Donald Trump repeated his suggestion that Canada become the 51st on Sunday, noting that it would not be subjected to his incoming tariffs should the country join the U.S.

‘We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason,’ Trump wrote on TRUTH Social. ‘We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true!’

‘Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State,’ Trump added. ‘Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada – AND NO TARIFFS!’

Trump has for weeks suggested the United States should take control of Canada through economic pressure.

Citing the flow of illicit drugs across the northern border, Trump signed an order Saturday to implement a 25% tariff on goods entering the United States from Canada. The order, which takes effect Tuesday, also puts a 10% duty on energy or energy resources from Canada. The order states, ‘gang members, smugglers, human traffickers, and illicit drugs of all kinds have poured across our borders and into our communities,’ adding that ‘Canada has played a central role in these challenges, including by failing to devote sufficient attention and resources or meaningfully coordinate with United States law enforcement partners to effectively stem the tide of illicit drugs.’

Trump also said he would implement tariffs of 25% on goods from Mexico, as well as 10% on imports from China due to the flow of drugs across U.S. borders.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum both vowed retaliation on Saturday.

‘We categorically reject the White House’s slander of the Government of Mexico for having alliances with criminal organizations, as well as any intention to interfere in our territory,’ Sheinbaum said, adding that she instructed her administration officials to implement ‘tariff and non-tariff measures in defense of Mexico’s interests.’

Trudeau said Canada would impose 25% tariffs on $155 billion of U.S. goods, including ‘immediate tariffs on $30 billion worth of goods effective Tuesday, followed by further tariffs on $125 billion worth of American products in 21 days.’

‘I don’t think we’re not at all interested in escalating, but I think that there will be a very strong demand on our government to make sure that we stand up for the deal that we have struck with the United States,’ Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman told ABC News’ ‘This Week’ on Sunday.

“When do I sell?” is easily the most-asked question I’ve received over the years. There are multiple answers to this question based on certain variables. The first key variable is whether you’re a day trader, short-term swing trader, or long-term buy and holder. I prefer swing trading, so my answer many times is when corroborating technical evidence tells me to sell.

My easiest sell is after a failed attempt at a breakout or a major reversing candle on heavy volume. The first one is fairly easy to see. Let’s use Palantir Technologies, Inc. (PLTR) as an example from Friday. I don’t know if PLTR is going up on Monday or later this week, but what I do know is it broke out to an intraday all-time high on Friday, then failed to hold that breakout on a closing basis. Check this out:

First, let me say that PLTR has a very strong chart. The AD line is continuously rising, a bullish cup has formed, and PLTR is a leader amongst software stocks ($DJUSSW). Second, I’m not saying PLTR is a short candidate. I’m simply saying it would be a sell for me short-term to take profits. I rarely short during secular bull markets. If it does make the breakout, I can always decide to jump back in. But I’d be looking for PLTR to pull back to form a handle off the cup pattern, or possibly even pull back to the recent low near 65. Sideways consolidation is a very real possibility after an extended advance like the one PLTR has enjoyed. If you need further evidence, look no further than NVIDIA Corp (NVDA) after its June/November/January tops. It’s still consolidating.

The two red arrows mark what “could” be a double top, resulting in a lengthy period of selling and/or consolidation. Taking profits now is a risk-management strategy, eliminating the possibility of riding PLTR back to the downside. If income taxes is a concern and you’re a long-term investor, I see nothing to suggest PLTR is a sell here. I’m only discussing my preferred short-term swing trading strategy.

A second stock with a similar look would be Parker Hannifin Corp (PH), which surged on Thursday after its earnings report. PH then tacked on further gains on Friday and found itself intraday in all-time-high territory. It too looks like a cup has formed:

The AD line here doesn’t seem quite as strong as PLTR, but PH clearly is a leader in the industrial machinery space ($DJUSFE). As I looked around the market on Friday, and really throughout the week, I couldn’t help but see a TON of companies testing key overhead price resistance.

The S&P 500 filled its gap from the severe drop on Monday morning, then printed a bearish engulfing candle on Friday:

Seeing the S&P 500 fail at all-time highs and gap resistance, with well-above-average volume makes me very nervous, especially given the overall market environment.

Costco and the Teamsters union have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract, avoiding a strike, the union said Saturday.

Teamsters spokesman Matthew McQuaid confirmed the agreement, which will have to be approved by members. Details of the agreement weren’t immediately available. The Associated Press left a message seeking comment with Costco.

The Teamsters union represents 18,000 Costco workers in six states: California, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Overall, Costco has 219,000 U.S. employees and 617 U.S. stores. The company said its labor agreement with the Teamsters applies to less than 10% of those stores.

On Jan. 20, Teamsters members at Costco voted overwhelmingly in favor of a strike if a new three-year contract agreement wasn’t reached by midnight Friday, when the current contract expired.

Union members wanted the Issaquah, Washington, company to make a contract offer that reflects its sales and profit growth. Costco’s revenue rose 5% to $254 billion in its most recent fiscal year, which ended Sept. 1. The company reported net income of $7.36 billion, double its profit in 2019.

“Costco Teamsters deserve an industry-leading contract that reflects the company’s massive profits. If Costco thinks they can exploit our members while raking in billions, we’ll shut them down,” Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien said in a statement.

The boo birds are out in Lexington, Kentucky.

John Calipari returned to Kentucky’s Rupp Arena on Saturday for the first time since leaving in April to take the head coaching position at Arkansas. Heading into the SEC matchup between the Wildcats and Razorbacks, many wondered if Calipari would receive a warm welcome, including Calipari himself.

‘Walking in there will be emotions. I look forward to walking as the opposing coach,’ he said on Thursday. ‘In my time, I don’t remember them ever cheering an opposing coach, so I’m fine. (The fans) are engaged and my guess is that they’ll be engaged on Saturday night.’

Calipari guessed right. Big Blue Nation unleashed a chorus of boos as Calipari stepped on the court, where he coached the Wildcats from 2009 to 2024 and led the team to the 2012 national championship and four Final Four appearances.

Calipari shared an embrace with Mark Pope, who succeeded him as Kentucky’s head coach, ahead of tipoff.

Despite the icy reception, Calipari said his opinion of the Kentucky fanbase remains unchanged.

‘You’re not going to erase from my mind what we’ve done (in Kentucky). You can’t erase history. That’s what it was,’ Calipari said ahead of his return. ‘The fans are terrific. They were terrific during our run.’

Calipari got the last laugh on Saturday.

In the defining moment of Calipari’s tenure to this point, his Razorbacks upended the No. 12 Wildcats 89-79.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, third-year coach Matt Rhule said he ‘highly doubts’ the annual spring game, one of the country’s most attended, will be played again. He blamed the transfer portal.

‘I don’t know that yet, but I’ll be honest with you. I highly doubt it,’ Rhule said about the future of the spring game. ‘I hate to say this, but last year we were one of the more televised spring games and I dealt with a lot of people offering our players a lot of opportunities after that.

‘To go out and bring in a bunch of new players and then showcase them for all the other schools to watch, that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.’

Nebraska’s spring game was held on April 27, 2024, in front of 60,452 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. The game was also televised on the Big Ten Network. Following the spring game, the Cornhuskers suffered a few losses to the transfer portal.

“The word ‘tampering’ doesn’t exist anymore,” Rhule said. “It’s just an absolute free open common market. I don’t necessarily want to open up to the outside world. I don’t these guys all being able to watch our guys and say, ‘Wow, he looks like a pretty good player. Let’s go get him.’ ‘

While a ‘traditional spring’ game for the Cornhuskers doesn’t seem likely, Rhule did say he wants to have the opportunity to ‘show off’ his players to the fans in some fashion. Nebraska could hold an event on April 26 to end spring practices. The transfer portal for the spring cycle closes on April 25 this year.

‘I do want to show off our players in some way,’ he said. ‘So what exactly will it be? … I have not worried about anything other than recruiting right now.’

The first two tickets to WrestleMania 41 have been punched.

‘Main Event’ Jey Uso and the ‘Queen’ Charlotte Flair emerged as the winners of the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, respectively, in Indianapolis on Saturday night, ensuring their spots in championship matches at WrestleMania in April. They took two different paths to their monumental wins; Flair is a 14-time WWE Champion and can add to her decorated career, while Uso is continuing to build up his singles career in a major way.

WWE’s grand event is still more than two months away. Who will Flair and Uso face at WrestleMania 41? And what will be in store for them leading up to it? Here’s a look at what could be ahead for the 2025 Royal Rumble winners:

What’s next for Charlotte Flair?

The two-time Royal Rumble winner was out of action for more than a year prior to her return. Since she hasn’t been involved in any storylines, she has plenty of options open.

‘I’m coming for my title at WrestleMania. I just haven’t decided which one,’ she said at her press conference.

A matchup with Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship is an enticing option. Still young in her career, Stratton has been viewed as the next possible multi-time champion given her natural talent and ability to do just about anything in the ring. In a way, she’s just like a younger Flair, and a possible match could be a passing-of-the-torch moment for the next generation of wrestling.

However, there’s another option that’s too good to pass up for WWE: Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship in the WrestleMania trilogy match. In 2020, the two faced off at WrestleMania 36 for the NXT Women’s Championship while Ripley was still a rising prospect and the experienced Flair got the best of her. Three years later, they dueled at WrestleMania 39 in what was one of the best matches of the year, with Ripley claiming the Women’s World Championship.

Two years since their last fight, the landscape of WWE has changed. That WrestleMania 39 win is arguably when Ripley launched herself into stardom. She’s now a veteran with star power, the biggest star in the women’s division, far from the same person that faced Flair in the past. Flair wants to prove she is ‘the history-making, groundbreaking, never scared, always prepared, self-made and always paid. The woman of WWE,’ … so why not put two of the biggest names together one more time in another thriller?

What’s next for Jey Uso?

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The main event is officially in the hands of the ‘Main Event’ man, and typically the men’s Royal Rumble winner would go after the top prize in WWE. But it isn’t that simple.

Since becoming a singles star, Uso has competed for the World Heavyweight Championship three times on TV, and he has fallen short each time, including against Gunther a week ago at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s been one of his biggest goals, and he even admitted heading into the night it was something he was planning to chase if he won. Now that he was the last one standing, that thinking may have changed.

‘Now it’s in concrete right now and it’s after the Rumble and I really won it, I’m looking at both (titles),’ Uso said.

The thought of Uso competing against friend Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship seems wild considering it didn’t seem like a possibility until Saturday night. Yet, it’s an option that’s now possible. He really could be in the main event in the biggest show possible.

But is it realistic? No. While Uso is absolutely over with the crowd, he isn’t WrestleMania main-event ready. He has improved dramatically since the dud at WrestleMania 40 with his brother Jimmy, but he isn’t there yet. There are so many big names − John Cena, CM Punk, Roman Reigns to name a few − that would be better draws to face Rhodes and make much more sense. The storylines and build-up would help make it a WrestleMania classic.

The right move for Uso would be challenging Gunther again. The current champion has trashed Uso’s ability in the ring, but Uso could change the narrative by dethroning Gunther in Las Vegas.

‘I would like one more crack at Gunther. I really feel like I can beat Gunther,’ Uso said.

It’s not the typical route for the Royal Rumble winner, but it’s the right one for ‘Mr. Yeet.’

Bech caught the game-winning touchdown for Team American in the Senior Bowl on Saturday in Mobile, Alabama. Bech broke down in the end zone following the game-winning catch from Seth Henigan as his teammates mobbed him in celebration.

He did so wearing a No. 7 jersey to honor his brother and former Princeton football player Martin ‘Tiger’ Bech, who was one of 14 people killed in the New Orleans truck attack on New Year’s Day. Following the game, Bech embraced his parents and celebrated by being named the Senior Bowl MVP.

‘It’s simple, my brother has some wings on me,’ Bech said after the game to NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero. ‘He gave them to me and let all of that all take place. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tiger, nothing else but them. They are the reason I did what I did today. I attribute it all to them.’

Bech, 22, led the Horned Frogs with 1,034 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in the 2024 season, and a strong week at the Senior Bowl likely will help him garner NFL draft interest.

Here’s what you need to know about Jack Bech:

Jack Bech’s brother, Tiger, dies in New Orleans attack

Tiger Bech, who spent three seasons playing college football for Princeton in 2016-18, was among those killed in the New Orleans attack on Jan. 1. The news was first confirmed by Kim Broussard, the athletic director at St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, where Bech attended school. Jack Bech later confirmed the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

‘Love you always brother,’ Bech wrote on X. ‘You inspired me (every day) now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us.’

Bech, who wore No. 13 with TCU, switched to the No. 7 jersey during the Senior Bowl practices and game to honor his brother.

‘I’ve got angel wings on me,’ Bech said to Fox Sports about wearing his brother’s number. ‘I’ve got the greatest guardian angel of them all, pulling me to where I am now. This was his last test for me, knowing if I can get past this, anything that’s thrown at me will be nothing compared to this.’

Jack Bech stats

Bech was a Biletnikoff semifinalist this season after finishing with 1,034 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He had 647 yards and six touchdowns in the first five game of the season.

He began his collegiate career with LSU and finished with 133 catches for 1,869 yards and 13 touchdowns over four seasons.

Bech finished with six receptions for 68 yards, including the game-winning touchdown on a play that started with seven seconds left at the Senior Bowl. He could be a mid-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Here’s a look at Bech’s collegiate stats:

2021 (LSU): 43 receptions for 489 yards and three touchdowns
2022 (LSU): 16 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown
2023 (TCU): 12 receptions for 146 yards
2024 (TCU): 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns
Career: 133 receptions for 1,869 yards and 13 touchdowns

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left for the U.S. on Sunday to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, looking to strengthen ties with the U.S. government following tensions with the Biden administration over the war in Gaza.

Netanyahu departed for Washington amid the ceasefire with Hamas – which includes hostage releases – still in effect and negotiations for a second phase expected to begin this week. He will be the first foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration on Jan. 20.

‘The fact that this will be his first meeting with a leader of a foreign country since his inauguration holds great significance for the State of Israel,’ Netanyahu said in a statement.

‘First of all, it indicates the strength of the alliance between Israel and the United States. Secondly, it also reflects the strength of our connection; a connection that has already yielded great things for the State of Israel and the region, and has also brought about the historic peace agreements between Israel and four Arab countries – the ‘Abraham Accords’ that President Trump led,’ the prime minister continued.

This comes nearly 16 months after the war in Gaza began, prompted by Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack against Israel, leading to military retaliation from Israeli forces.

‘The decisions we made during the war, combined with the bravery of our IDF soldiers, have already changed the face of the Middle East,’ Netanyahu said. ‘They have changed it beyond recognition. I believe that with hard work alongside President Trump, we can change it even more for the better.’

‘Our decisions and the courage of our soldiers have redrawn the map. But I believe that working closely with President Trump, we can redraw it even further and for the better,’ he added.

Netanyahu and former U.S. President Joe Biden experienced tension in their relationship during the last administration in Washington, and the Israeli prime minister has not visited the White House since returning to office at the end of 2022.

‘We can strengthen Israel’s security, we can expand the circle of peace even further, and we can bring about a wonderful era that we never dreamed of. An era of prosperity, security, and peace from a position of strength,’ Netanyahu said. ‘The strength of our soldiers, the strength of our citizens, the strength of Israel, and the strength of the alliance between Israel and the United States.’

DORAL, Fla. — The lawmaker in charge of House Republicans’ elections arm is feeling confident that the GOP can buck historical precedent and hold onto their majority for the entirety of President Donald Trump’s term.

The 2024 elections saw Republicans make significant inroads with Hispanic and Black voters.

National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Richard Hudson, R-N.C., said progress would continue heading into the 2026 midterm elections.

‘We’ve done well with African Americans, comparatively,’ Hudson told Fox News Digital, referring to years prior. ‘We’ve put a lot more effort in reaching out to that community as well and letting them know that we want your votes, and we want to represent you, and we care about the issues that matter to you and your family.’

‘I think we can do better, and we’ll continue to attempt to do better. But, look, our message, our values, our principles are all universal.’

He said Republicans’ values also lined up with Hispanic and Latino voters, 42% of whom supported Trump, according to the Associated Press.

‘We are focused on the issues you care about,’ Hudson said the pitch was. ‘It’s crime in your neighborhoods. It’s education for your children. It’s securing the borders. It’s the price of things for your family. I mean, these are all things we campaigned on. But we deliberately went out into the Hispanic community and said, ‘We want your vote.’ And they responded.’

Earlier in the interview, he credited Trump with delivering on those values in 2024, and argued that Trump’s policies would get Republicans over the line again next year.

Historically, the first midterm after a new presidential term serves as a rebuke of the party in power.

Democrats won the House of Representatives in a ‘blue wave’ in 2018 during Trump’s first term. Four years later, Republicans wrestled it back under former President Joe Biden.

But the circumstances are somewhat different this time, something Hudson noted.

‘We’re in a unique time in history, where you had a president serve four years with all his policies, and then he was replaced by another president who had completely different policies. . . . And then the two ran against each other,’ Hudson said. ‘So the American people sort of had a referendum on which president they wanted, which policies they chose, and they overwhelmingly selected Donald Trump.’

Trump is in his second term, and Hudson argued that the 2024 presidential race was a referendum between two clear White House records.

‘He has a mandate that I think is unique in history. And so this isn’t a first-term president going into his first midterm. I mean, this is someone the American people know, and they’ve chosen,’ Hudson said.

Hudson also pointed out that Democrats will be defending 13 lawmakers whose districts Trump won, while Republicans only had to hold onto three seats that voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.

‘The battlefield out there for us going into 2026 favors Republicans,’ Hudson said.

He spoke with Fox News Digital at Trump National Doral golf course and resort in South Florida, where Republicans held their three-day retreat to strategize their agenda.

Hudson was one of the senior Republicans who gave a presentation to fellow lawmakers during the event, where his message was: ‘We’re on offense this cycle.’

‘We’re going to lean in. We have a lot of opportunity in those Donald Trump seats,’ Hudson said he told colleagues. ‘We’re going to hold Democrats accountable for their voting against the policies the American people want.’

The Arizona State-Arizona basketball rivalry matchup on Saturday ended with some fireworks and controversy.

Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley sent his bench players to the locker room with 30 seconds left in the game. The teams agreed to skip the postgame handshake line after the Wildcats’ Caleb Love and Sun Devils’ BJ Freeman were ejected with less than a minute left in Arizona’s 81-72 win at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Following the game, Hurley was asked about his decision to forgo the handshake line and get his team out of a heated situation. Hurley pointed to the ‘constant chatter’ coming from Arizona players.

‘If you were right near our bench, it was relentless, constant chatter from a couple of Arizona players that was not being policed properly,’ Hurley said postgame. ‘Of course, they are going to be happy with winning, but it was done with no class, in my opinion. The words that were said back and forth led to the moment where Freeman lost it and lost his cool because of the constant talk that was allowed to go on.

‘I had to make a tough decision in the best interest of our team to get them off the court and to the locker room so there would be no further incident the rest of the game and in the handshake line.

‘I just saw it was very heated and the possibility something else could happen and I was going to avoid that. I wanted to avoid any further confrontation at the end of the game,’ Hurley added.

Look: Caleb Love, BJ Freeman ejected

Love was initially ejected after he retaliated, but replays showed Freeman headbutted Love first, which also led to his ejection.

Hurley clearly took issue with Love’s actions, stating during postgame availability: ‘I get a vote for [Big 12] All-Conference, and I can tell you who’s not getting my vote’

The teams are scheduled to face off again on March 4.
