The Biden administration is denying that there was a secret internal plot to get rid of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, a scheme first reported Thursday by the New York Post.

Deputy White House press secretary Andrew Bates forcefully rejected claims from multiple sources with knowledge of the plans, which included longtime Biden senior adviser Anita Dunn, supported by White House chief of staff Jeff Zients, recruiting prominent outside Democrats to urge Jean-Pierre to voluntarily make her exit.

‘Not only are these claims wildly false, but the reality is the polar opposite. Karine was never approached by anyone with such a message. She spends four hours preparing every day. And neither Jeff nor Anita did any such thing; both have been unflinchingly supportive of her,’ Bates told the Post.

According to the Post’s sources, Jean-Pierre’s bosses were unhappy with her habit of reading prepared answers directly from her binder, which they viewed as falling short of making an adequate case for President Biden as he prepared to launch his re-election campaign.

‘Every press secretary uses the binder. Why is she being singled out?’ Bates added.

One of the sources told the Post that the effort included having outside people Jean-Pierre knew and trusted convince her it was the right time to move along and that it would make sense for her career to leave at around the same tenure as previous secretaries — about a year and a half.

The other source told the Post, ‘Jeff and Anita were trying to find Karine a graceful exit’ in an effort to avoid removing her against her will.

‘There’s a huge diversity issue, and they’re afraid of what folks are going to say,’ the source said, adding that although at least one person from outside the administration spoke to Jean-Pierre, that the plan had not yet, and was unlikely to, lead to her departure.

‘She has been pretty consistent in telling people from the minute she got the job that she was going to stay through the election,’ the source said. ‘I think Karine has decided to stay come hell or high water and that’s that.’

Both sources went on to tell the Post that the press secretary relied too much on her notes to be able to provide the quick-thinking pushback needed in the role, with one arguing that she ‘doesn’t have an understanding of the issues’ despite Jean-Pierre thinking that she’s ‘doing an amazing job.’

A February report by NBC News detailed a job offer Jean-Pierre received and rejected in December from EMILYs List, a pro-abortion group, and, according to an email shared with the Post, Dunn appeared to have accepted that same month that Jean-Pierre wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

‘KJP isn’t going anywhere, so this is a ridiculous piece,’ Dunn wrote in the email to a Washington Post reporter regarding a separate piece.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House for additional comment.

The White House’s denial concerning Jean-Pierre comes as Biden received more bad news about his re-election bid.

A new CNN poll released Sunday found former President Trump holding a continued advantage (49%-43%) in a head-to-head matchup, with that lead growing to nine points (42%-33%) when including independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (16%) and Dr. Cornel West (4%) and Green Party candidate Jill Stein (3%).

Additionally, 55% said they saw Trump’s presidency as a success, but 61% said they saw Biden’s presidency as a failure.

The Volatility Index ($VIX) is one of my key sentiment indicators and it has a history of accurately predicting corrections and bear markets. We’ve had neither without the VIX first clearing an important hurdle in the 17-20 range. Bear markets require a huge dose of fear and panic and the VIX acts as our stock market meteorologist – one that predicts major market storms as they’re approaching. Throughout this entire secular bull market, the S&P 500’s poor periods of performance have been marked by VIX readings above 20. Rather than repeat these results in this article, you can check out a Trading Places article that I wrote in November 2023, “What Are The Chances Of A Market Crash? This Indicator Says ZERO!”

On recent Trading Places Live YouTube shows and in my regular emails to our EB.com members, I’ve consistently discussed the significant increase in risk that accompanies a VIX close above 20. I do not take it lightly and neither should you. But check out what happened over the past few weeks as the VIX spiked and neared 20:

We had a straight-up move off the October 2023 low and the above chart simply reeks of slowing bullish momentum throughout the second half of Q1. I expected March weakness, but it was delayed into April. That final move lower in October was characterized by the big VIX increase – ultimately with closes on the VIX above 20. Once that VIX returned below 17, the selling and correction was over and the bull market resumed. Hence, the reason for my November article linked above.

When I evaluate a bounce like the one we had last week, I like to see if there’s a resumption of the “risk on” market environment. Here are a few ratios that I like to follow and how they responded during the bounce:

These 3 ratios all bounced higher with the S&P 500, but all remain in downtrends that began before the S&P 500 selling did. That tells me that “risk off” still remains in play to some degree and we’ll need further confirmation that a short-term bottom is in play. IF we do turn lower again, watch the VIX. If we see fresh new lows on the S&P 500 and the fear dissipates (ie, VIX remains below 20), I’d view that as a positive signal.

Over the past two weeks, I’ve shared my best upcoming earnings reports in the finance and industrials sectors. They both (AXP and GE) saw very strong reactions to their quarterly results. Have a great week ahead and happy trading!

Over the past trading week, it was expected that while technical pullbacks in the markets may get extended, NIFTY may still continue to remain under corrective pressure at higher levels. The past trading days precisely witnessed this scenario. The markets initially extended their technical pullback and extended their upmove; however, at the same time, the last trading day of the week saw the markets coming under strong selling pressure. While the NIFTY oscillated in a 427-point range, a sharp decline in volatility was notable on a technical front. The India VIX came off by another 18.82% to 10.93. The headline index NIFTY 50 closed with a net weekly gain of 272.95 points (+1.23%).

We have a truncated week coming up once again with Wednesday (May 01) being a trading holiday on account of Maharashtra Day. The markets have largely remained in a defined trading range with the 20-week MA which is currently placed at 21994 acting as immediate support on a closing basis. On the upper side, the previous week’s high shall continue to post strong resistance. In a nutshell, so long as the Nifty can defend the 21950-22000 levels, it will stay in a range; a violation of this support zone will invite incremental weakness in the markets.

The coming week is likely to see the levels of 21615 and 21730 acting as resistance points. The supports come in at 22100 and 21900 levels.

The weekly RSI stands at 64.98; it stays neutral and does not show any divergence against the price. The weekly MACD is bearish and trades below its signal line. A Spinning Top occurred on the candles; this denotes indecisiveness among market participants. The Bollinger bands are seen narrowing; this is due to the reduced volatility over the past weeks and this will contribute to keeping the markets in a narrow and defined range.

The pattern analysis of the weekly chart shows that the 20-week MA, which is placed at 21994 is the most immediate support for Nifty on a closing basis. A violation of 21950-22000 may bring in some more weakness in the index. The markets remain vulnerable to selling pressure at higher levels; no runaway upmove is likely until the Nifty crosses above the 21650-21700 zone convincingly.

All in all, we may continue to see the markets remaining in a defined trading range with the zone of 21950-22000 acting as immediate support. Importantly, the low levels of VIX would require the market participants to stay cautious of any spike on this front as may adversely impact the markets. It is worth noting that low levels of VIX are due to reduced volatility, and this reflects complacency on the part of market participants. Often major market tops are formed when VIX stays at its lowest levels for a prolonged period. In the present situation, it is of paramount importance that unless the Nifty forms a new high, we should be using all up moves to protect profits at higher levels vigilantly. All fresh purchases must be made in the defensive pockets or in those stocks that are enjoying strong relative strength against the broader markets. Overall, a cautious approach is advised of the upcoming truncated week.

Sector Analysis for the coming week

In our look at Relative Rotation Graphs®, we compared various sectors against CNX500 (NIFTY 500 Index), which represents over 95% of the free float market cap of all the stocks listed.

Relative Rotation Graphs (RRG) show that Nifty Metal, Consumption, and Auto Indices are inside the leading quadrant. Among these, though the Auto index is showing paring of its relative momentum, these groups are likely to relatively outperform the broader Nifty 500 index.

The Nifty Commodities, Pharma, PSU Banks, and Infrastructure indices have entered the weakening quadrant. The Nifty Realty, Energy, Midcap 100, and PSE indices are also inside the weakening quadrant. Individual performance may be seen within these groups but their relative performance is expected to slow down.

The Nifty Media Index is inside the lagging quadrant along with the FMCG Index and both groups are showing sharp improvement in their relative momentum against the broader markets. The Nifty IT Index continues to languish inside the lagging quadrant.

The Nifty Financial Services, Services Sector, and Bank indices are inside the improving quadrant; they may be seen building up on their relative performance against the broader markets.

Important Note: RRG™ charts show the relative strength and momentum of a group of stocks. In the above Chart, they show relative performance against NIFTY500 Index (Broader Markets) and should not be used directly as buy or sell signals.

As Terique Owens looks to make his own name as a wide receiver in the NFL, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens will remain closely linked to his father for at least the start of his pro career.

The wide receiver from Missouri State agreed to sign an undrafted free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers after the conclusion of the 2024 NFL draft, according to multiple reports. The 49ers selected Owens’ father in the third round of the 1996 draft, and the receiver would go on to earn four Pro Bowl berths during his eight-year run with the franchise while becoming one of the NFL’s biggest stars.

Earlier in April, Terique Owens attended the 49ers’ pro day for prospects with local ties. Terrell Owens was on hand to watch.

‘I’m proud of him just to get to this point,’ Terrell Owens told the 49ers’ website. ‘He has to take these moments as huge opportunities for him to show what he can do.

‘He doesn’t have a lot of film-work, a lot of football-work throughout the course of his college career but there are different paths to making it to a team and making some history and success for yourself. This is definitely a step in the right direction.’

Terique Owens began his career at Contra Costa College and then transferred to Florida Atlantic for one season prior to his arrival at Missouri State. He recorded 28 catches for 528 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023.

Mathew Barzal scored 1:24 into the second overtime Saturday as the New York Islanders avoided elimination against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes lead the best-of-seven series three games to one. Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.

‘Live to see another day,’ Islanders forward Anders Lee said. ‘Fun to get in here and get back to work in a couple days.’

Barzal redirected Robert Bortuzzo’s shot from the blue line for his second goal of the game.

‘Great shot by Bobby (Bortuzzo),’ Barzal said. ‘Just find a lane and throw it in an area where there’s some bodies. Lucky bounce.’

Lightning 6, Panthers 3

Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos and Brandon Hagel each scored twice as the Lightning stayed alive in Game 4.

The win cut the Lightning’s deficit to 3-1. Game 5 is Monday night in Sunrise, Florida.

Brayden Point had a goal and two assists, Nick Paul scored and Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman each had three assists. Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 22 shots as the Lightning broke a six-game postseason home losing streak.

Returning from a broken leg, Tampa Bay defenseman Mikhail Sergachev recorded an assist in his first game since Feb. 7.

‘When you get one of the best defensemen in the league back in your lineup, it gives you a little bit of a jump, and it did that tonight,’ Hagel said. ‘Kudos to him for playing tremendous.’

Bruins 3, Maple Leafs 1

Jeremy Swayman started back-to-back games for the first time in more than two months and made 25 saves to help the Boston Bruins take a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Swayman, who had been alternating starts with Linus Ullmark, won his third game of the series to improve to 6-0-0 against the Maple Leafs this season.

Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist and James van Riemsdyk also scored for the Bruins. It was the 56th playoff goal for Marchand, moving him past Cam Neely for the all-time team lead.

Mitch Marner scored and Ilya Samsonov made 14 saves through the first two periods for the Maple Leafs before Joseph Woll replaced him.

The Maple Leafs got William Nylander back from a three-game absence but forward Auston Matthews did not play in the third period because of illness.

Stars 3, Golden Knights 2 (OT)

Dallas’ Wyatt Johnston scored his second goal of the game at 16:23 of overtime as the Stars picked up their first victory of the series against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 Monday night in Las Vegas.

Logan Thompson was brilliant, especially in the second period as he stopped breakaways and other odd-man rushes as the Golden Knights tied a game it had trailed 2-0. He robbed Roope Hintz in tight before Jack Eichel’s tying short-handed goal.

Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, a Montreal man, founded New Orleans. Luguentz Dort, a fellow Montrealer, finished New Orleans.

Dort, with suffocating defense and a second-quarter 3-point surge, led the Thunder to a 106-85 win against the Pelicans on Saturday afternoon at Smoothie King Center.

What pulse the Pelicans had in this series is gone. The Thunder’s 3-0 lead is all but insurmountable. No team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit to win a series in NBA history.

Due respect to the Thunder’s big three of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren — all of whom have had excellent moments — but Dort has been OKC’s MVP of this first round.

The Pelicans haven’t sniffed the century mark in this series, thanks in large part to Dort. Specifically, what Dort has done to terrorize Brandon Ingram.

Already playing without their primary offensive weapon in Zion Williamson, the Pelicans needed Ingram to shoulder the scoring burden if they were to have a chance in this series. That hasn’t happened, of course. Because Dort, of course.

At his best, Ingram plays like a discount Kevin Durant. At his worst? Well, I think we’re seeing it right now. Ingram, who might still be hobbled by a knee injury he suffered late in the season, barely looks mobile against Dort. Forget his height advantage. Ingram can hardly dribble.

The Pelicans’ attempts to free Ingram from Dort using screens have been fruitless.

Just watch what Dort does to avoid getting screened. He anticipates contact, always staying a step ahead of the screener. And if he can’t avoid the screen, he blasts through it like Adrian Peterson through tackle dummies. If the screen is illegal, Dort is better than anyone at selling the call.

“My main thing is just to make everything tough,” Dort said on the eve of Game 3. “Whatever I gotta do, if it’s a crazy contest or just running by a guy, anything that I can do to mess up a shot I’ll do it.”

Dort has learned the league in his five years, honing his defensive techniques while maintaining the frenzied energy he’s always played with.

“His relentless nature, that got him pretty far, that got him 85% of the way there,” Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said Friday. “Even as a rookie he was incredibly impactful, but he’s really touched up the edges. He’s learned some tricks to the point now he does some things sometimes that we don’t teach.

“Some of the stuff with Ingram, even off-ball … he’s just giving the guy different looks. That’s not the scouting report. That’s just us kind of unleashing him on the game. There’s more of a method to that madness than maybe meets the eye.”

Ingram actually had his most efficient game of the series Saturday, but even then it was 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting. That’s not enough, not nearly enough. Not against the Thunder’s firepower.

Gilgeous-Alexander had a modest 24 points to lead the Thunder, but teammates Jalen Williams and Josh Giddey complemented SGA. Williams had 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Giddey had 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Holmgren didn’t have a big scoring game but was spectacular defensively.

And then there was Dort, the undrafted guard out of Arizona State who scored nine of his 12 points in the second quarter, shooting 3-of-3 from 3-point range. Dort’s hot-shooting stretch coincided with the Thunder’s biggest run of the game.

Dort has been pickier with his shot diet this season and has become a legitimate 3-point threat, shooting a career-high 39.4% from deep, but whatever he adds offensively is still a bonus. Defense is his calling card, almost to the point you can take it for granted.

“Just for clarity, I have never taken Lu’s defense for granted, so if anybody is, it’s not me,” Daigneault said with a laugh.

Like Gilgeous-Alexander on offense, Daigneault doesn’t try to overcoach Dort on defense.

“When they’re elite at something, you’ve gotta let them be elite,” Daigneault said.

Dort was elite Saturday, positioning the Thunder for a possible sweep Monday.

Dort could finish New Orleans once and for all.

Celtics 104, Heat 84

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each had 22 points as the Boston Celtics routed the Miami Heat.

Boston, the NBA’s top seed, leads the best-of-seven series 2-1 with Game 4 Monday in Miami.

After losing Game 2 in Boston, the Celtics never trailed Saturday against the eighth-seeded Heat.

Magic 112, Cavaliers 89

The Orlando Magic evened their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers 2-2, using a third-quarter flurry to erase a halftime deficit and steamroll toward a Game 4 rout.

Franz Wagner had 12 of his game-high 34 points and three teammates chipped in with a combined five 3-pointers in Orlando’s 37-10 run.

Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday at Cleveland. The home team has won every game.

Yes, that is really Frank Gore’s son who was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent after not hearing his name called during the 2024 NFL draft.

Gore Jr. is the son of Frank Gore, who enjoyed a 16-year pro career and ranks third in NFL history with 3,735 carries and 16,000 rushing yards. Gore Sr. played one season with Buffalo (2019) and averaged 3.6 yards per rush at 36 years old.

In his four-year career at Southern Mississippi, Gore Jr. had 759 carries for 4,022 rushing yards (5.3 yards per carry) with 26 rushing touchdowns. He led Southern Miss in rushing all four years he was on the team and eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in his junior and senior seasons. He was named second-team All-Sun Belt following both seasons.

Gore is the son of legendary NFL running back Frank Gore Sr. He’s smaller than his dad at 5-foot-8, 201 pounds and doesn’t have the same breakaway speed, but he’s a strong, shifty runner. Gore also has great vision and a tendency to fall forward to gain extra yards. He had to play quarterback at Southern Miss sometimes due to team struggles at that position and completed 17-of-35 pass attempts for 368 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Gore had opportunities to transfer to bigger schools but chose to stay at Southern Miss.

Gore Sr. last played in 2020 and made five Pro Bowls. He was also the 2006 Most Improved Player.

BOULDER, Colo. –  Colorado football coach Deion Sanders put on a short, wet display of football talent Saturday here at Folsom Field. It only lasted about an hour. The announced crowd of 28,424 also included plenty of no-shows who didn’t want to sit through the cold and rain at the second annual intrasquad spring game since his hiring.

But the performance was enough for Sanders to confirm what he already knew: This team is good enough to go to a bowl game this year.

“We’re gonna get it,” he said.

He renewed this promise before the game, when he addressed the poncho-wearing crowd to express his gratitude for braving the weather. He also called out Peggy Coppom, Colorado’s 99-year-old superfan.

“God bless all of you,” he told the crowd. “I would be remiss not to start our season out … without acknowledging the beautiful Miss Peggy. Where you at girl? Where’s Peggy? Peggy, wherever you are, we love you. We appreciate you and our goal is we’re gonna get you to a bowl game lady.”

Coppom was keeping dry far above the field, where the football action below included a running clock and only two quarters of scrimmage play. Using an unconventional scoring system, the offense then beat the defense, 29-24. Sanders’ quarterback son Shedeur Sanders threw the first touchdown of the game – a 19-yard pass to a new transfer teammate he helped recruit to the team – LaJohntay Wester from Florida Atlantic.

“The progress that we’ve made is another caliber of player that’s playing – a player that truly expects to go to the next level, meaning the NFL,” Sanders said.

Shedeur only played three series and completed 10 of 14 passes and one touchdown.

“The kid can flat-out play,” Deion Sanders said.

What else happened Saturday?

Shedeur was asked by a reporter afterward if he was disappointed that the NFL’s Denver Broncos drafted a quarterback in the first round Thursday – Bo Nix of Oregon. Some local fans were hoping the Broncos would hold off on drafting a quarterback until next year, when Shedeur is expected to be a top pick.

“Yeah, man, I don’t know what’s next now,” Shedeur Sanders said about the Broncos’ move.

He was joking. But he was also serious when he said this team is better physically and mentally, including himself. He ended last season with a fractured back after his offensive line surrendered the second-most quarterback sacks in the nation last year, when the Buffaloes finished 4-8.

“I’m feeling great right now,” he said.

The roster is different, too. At least 33 scholarship players have left the team since last November, most of them to transfer to other schools, including running back Dylan Edwards, last year’s leading rusher. The Buffs even moved a cornerback to running back Saturday because of the depleted depth at that position – redshirt freshman Isaiah Hardge, who raced to the end zone on a 40-yard touchdown run Saturday.

At the same time, at least 30 new transfer players are coming in to Boulder or are already enrolled, including at least seven offensive linemen.

“It’s definitely a lot of highs and lows, even with the portal going on, but I feel we got all the negative energy out of the building,” Shedeur said of the spring.

Deion Sanders on his future

Deion Sanders was asked about his future again Saturday with speculation swirling about what he might do after Shedeur Sanders and his safety brother Shilo leave the team next year to enter the NFL draft.

“I don’t follow my kids,” he said. “I pave roads for my kids. I build generational wealth for my kids. I lead my kids. I don’t follow my kids. So, I do not plan on following my kids to the NFL.”

He reiterated his love for Colorado and said he wants his own Coach Prime snowmobile line for the winters.

“I love everything about this part of the country and the fan base that we have here,” he said. “I just want to really bless you with a tremendously successful team. I really do. That’s my heart.”

What about that offensive line?

None of the starting five linemen who finished the season in 2023 are even on the team anymore after four transferred out and one exhausted his college eligibility. This fulfilled Deion Sanders’ promise of sorts last year, when he said he needed to “go get new linemen” as his quarterback son kept getting battered as a result of poor line play.

On Saturday, the 15th and final practice of the spring, the new starting line included freshman tackle Jordan Seaton, the No. 1 tackle recruit in the nation, along with Indiana transfer tackle Kahlil Benson and guard Justin Mayers, a transfer from UTEP. Overall, the offense yielded four sacks Saturday.

“Those guys are really close,” Deion Sanders said. “Not just the starters.”

About that Colorado weather and mascot Ralphie

Colorado’s famed bison mascot wasn’t allowed to run on the field because of the wet weather. The announced crowd still was the second-biggest crowd for a spring game in school history, besting the crowd of 17,800 in 2008 but less than last year, when the game sold out with more than 44,000 in Deion Sanders’ first spring.

It was the second straight year that precipitation spoiled the show after last year’s snowfall.

One day earlier, it was sunny and warm in Boulder, drawing dismay from Sanders about Colorado’s mercurial weather.

“Thank God no one was injured, no one was hurt,” Deion Sanders said.

New scholarship player

The team had another reason to celebrate Saturday after Deion Sanders awarded walk-on running back Charlie Offerdahl with a scholarship. Sanders has praised Offerdahl’s work ethic since Sanders was hired in December 2022.

“It’s unbelievable,” Offerdahl said. “All the praise, all the glory to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I really want to thank everybody at this organization, all of Colorado, Coach Prime. It’s a blessing.”

Offerdahl, a junior from Littleton, Colorado, said he likes to eat spaghetti and meatballs before games to prepare but didn’t play Saturday because he said he was recovering from intestinal damage sustained in a previous scrimmage.

Coach Prime’s big weekend

Deion Sanders served as one of the judges at a talent show Thursday where 20 groups and performers competed for a $4,200 cash prize in front of a small but energetic crowd at the CU Events Center. The free-admission show featured a number of creative and uplifting music and dance performances, but a poor sound system and technical difficulties often marred the event entitled “Prime’s Got Talent.”

A concert performance by Lil Wayne was scheduled to follow the spring game Saturday at the same campus arena. It’s not clear if Coach Prime would perform on stage as well.

Democrats are not seeing eye to eye on whether the party has a problem with antisemitism ahead of the November general election.

‘It’s easy to call out people with Tiki torches saying ‘Jews will not replace us’ or the former president saying ‘very fine people on both sides,’ Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., said in a statement to Fox News Digital, referencing a rally with White supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.

‘However, when Democrats look inward and see ‘go back to Poland’ or ‘kill the Zionists,’ they pretend the antisemitic rhetoric on the left isn’t happening, or they are silent,’ he added. ‘And as it turns out, the left and the right have something in common.’

As the war between Israel and terrorist group Hamas has gone on, initially spurred by the latter’s surprise attack on innocent civilians on Oct. 7, acts of antisemitism have been observed more often in the U.S.

The Anti-Defamation League reported that U.S. antisemitic assaults in the three months following the October attack in Israel shot up, surpassing the totals for entire years in the past.

The ADL said 3,291 assaults happened between Oct. 7 and Jan. 7. In 2022, 3,697 assaults occurred over the course of the entire year. The totals for each of the last 10 years, except for 2022, were less than that three-month period following the beginning of Israel’s war with Hamas.

This month, anti-Israel and antisemitic demonstrations rapidly expanded at top-tier universities, with a Gaza solidarity encampment that is persisting at Columbia University inspiring many of its higher education counterparts to take over their respective campuses, disrupt school activity, and intimidate Jewish students.

A rabbi at the New York school ultimately reccommended Columbia Jewish students return home to ensure their own safety.

While many Republican lawmakers have been quick to call out the demonstrations, Democrats have more often been quiet, and they have also been measured in their responses and calls for action from schools and police.

Some Democrats have even supported the encampment at Columbia, such as Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who recently visited students involved in the protest.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has additionally discouraged the use of police enforcement against such demonstrations.

Rachel Rosen, the chief communications officer for the group Democratic Majority for Israel, told Fox News Digital, ‘Antisemitism is emanating from the far left and the far right.’

However, she said, ‘President Biden has forcefully condemned antisemitism and defended Israel.’

She added, ‘We’re still waiting for GOP leaders to condemn Marjorie Taylor Greene’s ‘Jewish space lasers,’ the Republican candidate for governor of North Carolina’s Holocaust denialism and Donald Trump’s disgraceful trafficking in antisemitic tropes and dining with an actual Nazi.’

‘Donald Trump regularly demeans Jewish Americans, dines with White nationalists, and said Adolf Hitler ‘did some good things,” agreed Eric Schultz, senior advisor to former President Barack Obama. ‘Most Jewish voters support President Biden and that is because he has shown steadfast support for the Jewish people, especially with antisemitism on the rise.’

The White House didn’t provide comment on whether the Democratic Party has a problem with antisemitism to Fox News Digital in time for publication.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., who has emerged as a vocal advocate of Israel, was quick to say the party does have such a problem: ‘The far left, clearly. And that seems to manifest itself especially on the college campuses,’ he said.

According to Fetterman, the Democrats can grapple with the issue ‘by calling it out,’ which he noted he has been doing. However, he said he wasn’t going to give his colleagues advice on how to do so.

‘I’m not aware of it,’ Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., said when asked by Fox News Digital if the Democrats had an issue with antisemitism within the party. ‘But if there is, I’d be concerned.’

Tester is campaigning for re-election in Montana, which is poised to be one of the most competitive races in the country, rating as a ‘Toss Up’ by non-partisan political handicapper the Cook Political Report.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told Fox News Digital that he doesn’t believe there is an issue among Democrats with antisemitism. ‘I don’t believe there are antisemites among Democrats in the United States Congress,’ he said, noting that he couldn’t possibly know the beliefs of every individual Democratic voter.

‘People often say things that may be misconstrued,’ he explained. ‘And sometimes they say things that are offensive. But I don’t believe deep in their hearts people in the United States Congress hate Jews.’

Several Democrats, prompted as to whether there is specifically an issue on the left, avoided answering, instead condemning antisemitism in general.

‘As the co-founder of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, I’ve been working across the aisle to fight the scourge of antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head, regardless of political party or ideology,’ Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., said in a statement to Fox News Digital. Rosen is the only Jewish woman in the Senate.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., similarly emphasized in a statement, ‘Antisemitism has no place in our country and I condemn this hate in no uncertain terms.’

The women each face their own competitive re-election battles in Nevada and Wisconsin in November.

Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., didn’t answer whether there was a problem within the party, but noted he felt badly for students across the country who are having school and graduation ceremonies potentially interrupted amid the hysteria of the demonstrations.

The question was also sidestepped by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., whose office directed Fox News Digital instead to recent legislation he introduced to address antisemitism on college campuses.

Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., pointed to his statement denouncing ‘hateful, antisemitic harassment and intimidation’ at Columbia, without commenting on the party’s potential antisemitism concern.

Robert Shapiro, a political science professor at Columbia University explained that ‘The problem for the Democrats – Biden in particular, is not antisemitism.’

Instead, the issue they face is ‘how to deal with Israel and how to deal with the protests, especially in terms of the general disruption to society for which Biden and the Democrats may be held accountable, ultimately, in the 2024 election.’

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the highest ranking Jewish elected official in the U.S., did not provide comment in time for publication.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. responded to former President Trump’s allegations he is a ‘Democrat plant’ and would be a ‘wasted protest vote,’ challenging the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to a debate.

‘When frightened men take to social media they risk descending into vitriol, which makes them sound unhinged,’ Kennedy wrote in an X post on Saturday afternoon. ‘President Trump’s rant against me is a barely coherent barrage of wild and inaccurate claims that should best be resolved in the American tradition of presidential debate. President Trump, who has proven himself the most adept debater in modern American political history, should not be panicked to meet me on that stage.’

RFK Jr. said he will prove Trump ‘betrayed the hopes of his most sincere followers,’ arguing the former president ‘promised to end the Ukraine war and then colluded with Speaker Johnson and President Biden to fund it.’ Kennedy Jr. also said Trump ‘let Big Pharma and his corrupt bureaucrats run roughshod over him as President,’ and ‘promised to cut the deficit and ran up the biggest debt in history.’

‘He promised to run the government like a business and then closed down our businesses. He promised to drain the swamp and then filled his administration with swamp creatures,’ RFK Jr. said. ‘He promised to protect our rights and then torpedoed the Constitution.’

‘Instead of lobbing poisonous bombs from the safety of his bunker, let’s hear President Trump defend his record to me mano-a-mano by respectful, congenial debate,’ Kennedy concluded.

Trump’s 2020 campaign notably called out Biden’s ‘bunker’ strategy, condemning how the Democrat largely stayed away from the campaign trail and ducked the public eye while running for president.

Kennedy’s challenge came after Trump blasted the independent presidential candidate on TRUTH Social.

‘RFK Jr. is a Democrat ‘Plant,’ a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected,’ Trump wrote in a series of posts earlier Saturday. ‘A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him.’

Trump charged that RFK Jr. ‘is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet.’

‘His Radicalized Family will never allow him to be a Republican, and his Chief ‘Funder’ is the V.P. Candidate that nobody ever heard of, except her ex-husband, who’s been stripped of a big chunk of cash,’ Trump continued, taking a swipe at Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan.

Trump said that while living in New York at the same time as Kennedy, he watched the former Democrat convince former Gov. Andrew Cuomo ‘to make environmental moves that were outright NASTY,’ noting that upstate New York ‘was not allowed to drill or frack as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and others ripped off New York Energy,’ causing energy costs in upstate New York and New England to skyrocket.

‘His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy. Let the Democrats have RFK Jr. They deserve him!’ Trump said.
