Aaron Donald changed the NFL.

There’s really no other way to encapsulate the Los Angeles Rams’ superstar defensive lineman, who stunned the league Friday with the announcement that he was retiring at age 32 after 10 seasons. Three-time league Defensive Player of the Year, tied for most ever with Lawrence Taylor and J.J. Watt? Insufficient. Eight-time first-team All-Pro, tied for most ever among defenders since the AFL and NFL merged in 1970 (and in far fewer seasons than Hall of Famers Taylor, Bruce Smith or Reggie White)? Insufficient. A Pro Bowler in all 10 of his professional campaigns? Insufficient. A Super Bowl champion, one who provided the decisive pressure on the penultimate play against the Cincinnati Bengals two years ago to secure victory and the Lombardi Trophy? Insufficient. Thousands of double teams faced? Insufficient.

But you’re doubtless getting the picture if you hadn’t regarded it already. The Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray tidily summed up the quarterback community’s reaction to Donald’s departure with a two-word tweet: “THANK GOD.”

Over the past decade, there almost certainly hasn’t been a better NFL player than AD99. Patrick Mahomes? Sure, the three-time Super Bowl MVP has a valid argument. But among other non-quarterbacks? No way. And when considering the history of a league that’s more than a century old, Donald should legitimately be in the argument as a Mount Rushmore candidate and most certainly in the discussion with the likes of Taylor, White or Deacon Jones as the best defender who ever lived.

It’s never easy to quantify the value of a man who spends his life toiling in the trenches. Yet it’s actually not difficult in Donald’s case given a career that included 111 sacks – second-most in league annals among defensive tackles after Hall of Famer John Randle (137½ in 14 seasons) since the stat became official in 1982 – 176 tackles for loss (third-most ever), 790 pressures, 256 quarterback hits and 24 forced fumbles.

NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.

But, again, the numbers don’t do him justice.

“The great players in our league elevate the people around them and Aaron has modeled the way for our team as long as I’ve been with the Rams,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said in a statement. “He’s an elite competitor, someone who leads by example in a way that’s authentic to him, and an exceptional teammate who inspires everyone around him to be the best version of themselves.”

Donald was a true outlier when he entered the league in 2014 as the 13th overall draft pick out of the University of Pittsburgh – one made by the St. Louis Rams. At 6-1, 280 pounds, he didn’t look like the prototypical interior lineman. Too short. Too light. Probably wouldn’t hold up against the run. Likely to get engulfed by hulking blockers.

Whatever.

Donald quickly made his mark as the Defensive Rookie of the Year with nine sacks. The following season, he had 11 – and 37 quarterback hits, trailing only Watt but nearly double the next defensive tackle. Donald was too quick, too powerful and employed those traits as leverage against offensive linemen who quickly learned they couldn’t deal with him one-on-one.

After 2015, his talent was regularly showcased on a national stage with the Rams relocating back to Los Angeles and becoming perennial playoff threats under McVay, who was hired in 2017. Donald also became an archetype for NFL teams seeking interior pass rushers – not that there was ever even a reasonable facsimile. As Donald charted the quickest path to quarterbacks from the A and B gaps, other clubs had to rotate in underpowered defensive ends on passing downs to try and replicate his success – which proved the best antidote for defenses as offenses increasingly deployed three- and four-receiver sets, relying more heavily on quick-trigger passing games and spread concepts that didn’t grant traditional pass rushers sufficient time to affect quarterbacks.

Since NFL Network began polling players in 2011 to rank their top 100 peers on an annual basis, Donald and Watt are the only defensive players ever recognized as No. 1.

The crowning achievement finally arrived in Super Bowl 56 – appropriately played in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium to cap the 2021 season – Donald putting a bow on what had already been a banner two-sack day by ragdolling Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on a last-gasp, fourth-down throw to ice the Rams’ first ice as Hollywood tenants.

Also, allow me to contradict myself for a second here: Some numbers do do Donald justice. This year’s free agency market, which saw defensive tackles Chris Jones and Christian Wilkins earn $100+ million contracts averaging more than $25 million annually – and the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Madubuike wasn’t far behind – speaks to how NFL organizations now value interior D-linemen. Even guards who are suddenly getting $20 million or more per season to try to deal with these monsters have benefited from the altered landscape.

That’s the Donald Effect – and, for current players, by the most important metric.

As he exits stage left to focus on family and seek a new path, it’s natural to wonder what such a durable and prolific player might have done over the course of 15 seasons. But leaving on top also feels appropriate for a man who’s already a mythical character in NFL lore – one certain to don a gold Hall of Fame jacket when he’s first eligible in 2029.

“There will never be another Aaron Donald,” said Rams general manager Les Snead on Friday.

That pretty well sums it up.

The New York Jets have made another move to bolster their offensive line.

Smith, 33, received eight Pro Bowl nods and was a first team All-Pro two times in his 13 seasons in Dallas. Though injuries have been a persistent issue — Smith has missed at least three games every season since 2016 and played only two games in 2020 and four in 2022 — his presence and steady play should still provide a nice boost for a Jets offensive line that was in disarray last year.

The Smith addition comes after the team added guard John Simpson, who started every game last season for the Baltimore Ravens, in free agency and brought in tackle Morgan Moses in a trade with the Ravens. Smith figures to slot in at left tackle, Simpson at left guard and Moses at right tackle. Alijah Vera-Tucker, a 2021 first-round pick who played just five games last season due to an Achilles tear, will likely take the right guard spot next to second-year center Joe Tippmann, who started 14 games last season.

The reworked line should help keep Aaron Rodgers, reportedly in the running to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate in the upcoming presidential election, upright — assuming the 40-year-old quarterback is actually playing and is recovered from the Achilles injury that knocked him out for all but four snaps in 2023.

NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.

Though his defection was largely expected, Smith’s departure still leaves a hole for the Cowboys to fill. Smith has been a stalwart on their offensive line since they selected the USC lineman with the ninth overall pick in 2011. The Cowboys won the NFC East last season, their third consecutive 12-5 campaign, but the team is still seeking its first NFC title game appearance since the 1995 season.

Inter Miami star Lionel Messi stayed home in South Florida, but fans in the nation’s capital saw another soccer star shine on the pitch Saturday afternoon.

Luis Suárez, the 37-year-old Uruguayan striker who joined his friend Messi in Major League Soccer, scored two goals in 23 minutes off the bench to help Inter Miami snag a 3-1 victory against D.C. United at Audi Field.

Suárez entered the match as a substitute in the 62nd minute, and found the back of the net in 10 minutes. He secured a brace with a goal in the 85th minute to seal Inter Miami’s victory.

“He had about 30 minutes in the game, and he defined the game,” Inter Miami coach Tata Martino said of Suárez, whose tear in MLS continues with six goals with five assists in seven games across all competitions.

Messi injury update from Inter Miami coach after D.C. United game

Messi did not play due to a right hamstring injury, missing his second game of the 2024 MLS season. He has two matches with Argentina later this month, and Martino said the priority is for him to also be healthy for Inter Miami’s Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals matchup against LIGA MX side Monterrey in early April.

“We’ll continuously evaluate what he’s doing. The objective is for him to arrive to be able to play in the quarterfinals of Concacaf Champions Cup,” Martino said. “We don’t want to take a risk.”

Luis Suárez continues MLS tear

Martino said Suárez’s scoring has been expected since he joined Inter Miami after he earned the Golden Ball as the best player in the Brazilian league, scoring 17 goals for league runner-up Gremio last season.

“There was no reason to not be confident how he was going to perform here because two months prior, he had been performing really well,” Martino said of Suárez. “What’s important here is the confidence it generates for the team and the players.”

On his first goal: Suárez allowed Federico Redondo’s pass to reach Leo Campana, who sent a cross to Suárez that winded up in the back of the net.

On his second goal: Suárez received a pass from Diego Gomez, and waited patiently for his shot, a chip right over the D.C. United goalkeeper.

D.C. United’s Jared Stroud scored in the 14th minute, while Campana tied it in the 24th minute to spark a 1-1 tie at halftime before Suárez took over.

Messi hamstring injury could impact upcoming Argentina matches

Messi is expected to join the Argentina national team for two friendlies that will serve as warmups for this summer’s Copa America. And it’s possible his injury could limit him in both matches.

Argentina will play against El Salvador in Philadelphia on March 22, and against Costa Rica in Los Angeles on March 26, during the FIFA international window (MLS still schedule games during this period).

Messi could miss two Inter Miami games: Inter Miami vs. New York Red Bulls on March 23, when he’ll be with Argentina; and Inter Miami vs. New York City FC on March 30 for rest purposes.

Messi will return to DMV area in June

While Inter Miami vs. D.C. United ticket buyers may be upset about his absence, Messi is scheduled to return with Argentina to the DMV in June.

Messi will join Argentina for a match against Guatemala at Commanders Field in Landover, Maryland on June 14, which will serve as a warmup before Copa America this summer.

Luis Suárez gets brace with second goal: Inter Miami 3, D.C. United 1

‘El Pistolero’ has struck again for Inter Miami.

Luis Suárez has scored his second goal of the match in the 85th minute, a brace for the Uruguayan striker.

Suárez received a pass from Diego Gomez, and waited patiently for his shot, a chip right over the D.C. United goalkeeper.

Luis Suárez goal: Inter Miami 2, D.C. United 1

‘El Pistolero’ has made his presence felt in the nation’s capital: Luis Suárez scored in the 72nd minute to give Inter Miami a 2-1 lead over D.C. United.

Suárez allowed Federico Redondo’s pass to reach Leo Campana, who sent a cross back to Suárez, and the Uruguayan striker used his left foot to send it into the back of the net.

Suárez continues his tear in Major League Soccer, scoring his fifth goal in seven games across all competitions. He also has five assists.

The score came immediately after a contentious sequence on the other end, when Inter Miami’s Tomas Aviles may have defended a D.C. United goal attempt with his hand.

Luis Suárez enters in the 62nd minute for Inter Miami vs. D.C. United

Inter Miami’s Luis Suárez, who has four goals and five assists in six games, has entered the match in the 62nd minute.

With about 30 minutes left, it’s a good opportunity for the veteran to make an impact after resting in the first half.

Leo Campana goal: D.C. United 1, Inter Miami 1

Inter Miami’s aggressive persistence paid off 10 minutes after falling behind.

Defender Federico Redondo kept the play alive, even while laying on his back, and Leo Campana’s left boot found the back of the net for Inter Miami in the 24th minute.

Jared Stroud goal: D.C. United 1, Inter Miami 0

D.C. United’s Jared Stroud delivered a strike with his right boot, and has given his side a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.

Inter Miami goalie Drake Callender had no answer, after a save on D.C. United’s Christian Benteke one minute earlier.

Inter Miami trails without Messi, while Suárez and Alba are on the bench.

Inter Miami’s Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba not in starting lineup vs. D.C. United

While Messi is out, Suárez and Alba will start Saturday’s match from the bench. Meanwhile, D.C. United’s Christian Benteke will return from a groin injury.

Here are the starting lineups for both teams:

Inter Miami vs. D.C. United prediction

Inter Miami 2, D.C. United 2: No Messi, sure. But his fellow Barcelona stars Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, and U.S. National Team goalie Drake Callender will likely play for Inter Miami. Just keep an eye on D.C. United’s Christian Benteke, who had a hat trick in their season opener and could return from a groin injury to play. Both sides will play to a draw if Inter Miami is engaged enough without Messi. − Safid Deen, Lionel Messi reporter, USA TODAY

Why is Lionel Messi not playing against D.C. United?

Inter Miami released a statement on Friday afternoon, regarding Messi’s hamstring injury:

“Messi came off in the 50th minute of Wednesday’s Concacaf Champions Cup win against Nashville SC due to discomfort suffered on his right leg during the match. Following a subsequent medical assessment, it has been determined that the captain has suffered a slight injury in his right hamstring and is expected to miss the away match on March 16 at D.C. United,” the statement said.

“After those matches, Messi’s availability will be determined based on daily medical assessments and the development of his recovery in the coming days.”

Messi was seen having his hamstring massaged during the first of two Champions Cup matches against Nashville SC. Messi was also kicked in the left leg, causing his left ankle to twist during that March 7 match.

Messi the mega influencer: Brands love his 500 million followers and down-to-earth persona

Lionel Messi is a mega influencer by social media standards, but he’s so far from being a typical ‘influencer’ — even with 500 million Instagram followers at his fingertips.

Messi’s rise to 500 million has coincided with momentum following his thrilling World Cup victory in December 2022 and his successful move to MLS and media partnership with Apple TV last summer, but it’s also inextricably linked to who he is as a person.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially clearing the way for Russell Wilson.

The team is trading former starting quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles in a pick swap, according to multiple reports. The Steelers will receive a third-round pick this year as well as two seventh-round picks in 2025, while the Eagles will get Pickett and a fourth-round selection this year.

The move comes just five days after Wilson agreed to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum (approximately $1.2 million) to join the Steelers. The Denver Broncos are due to pay the remainder of the $39 million he’s owed for the 2024 season after officially cutting him this week, ending a tumultuous two-year run and incurring a record $85 million dead cap hit.

Pickett, 25, was the Steelers’ 2022 first-round draft pick (No. 20 overall) out of Pitt. He started the last two seasons but struggled piloting an offense that ranked 28th in scoring (17.9 points per game). Pickett was sidelined late in the season by an ankle injury, and the team kept him on the bench down the stretch and into the playoffs, choosing instead to stick with the hot hand in Mason Rudolph.

Pittsburgh hired former Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith this offseason to run the unit.

All things Steelers: Latest Pittsburgh Steelers news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

Both Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan backed Pickett earlier this offseason before signing Wilson.

‘I have full faith in Kenny Pickett,’ Khan said at the NFL scouting combine. ‘Obviously there were some issues with the offense, and I’m excited about the impact that Arthur Smith is going to have on him. I know Arthur’s very optimistic about Kenny, and I know they’ve communicated. And we’ll see where it goes. We feel really good about him.’

In Philadelphia, Pickett – who grew up Ocean Township, New Jersey, and was a fan of the Eagles – will serve as the backup to Jalen Hurts. Marcus Mariota, who served in the role last season, signed with the Washington Commanders.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said in a social media post that Duran was being treated in a hospital in Panama.

“His family is joined by the world in prayers for his successful and prompt recovery, he is a champion and will win this fight,” Sulaiman said in the post on X, formerly Twitter.

WASHINGTON — For the first time since 2007, NC State mens’ basketball is in the championship game of the ACC tournament.

The 10th-seeded Wolfpack continued their impressive, improbable run at the 71st edition of the event with a 73-65 win against Virginia in overtime at Capital One Arena. NC State, which outscored the Cavaliers 15-7 in the extra period, has won four games in as many days.

Michael O’Connell’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer got the game to overtime and DJ Burns’ dominance got NC State through to the title game. Burns scored 19 points to lead four Wolfpack players in double figures. O’Connell and Ben Middlebrooks had 12 points each, and Casey Morsell scored 11.

The 10th-seeded Wolfpack (21-14) has a chance to win its 11th ACC tournament championship, and its first since winning in Landover, Maryland, in 1987. That year, at the Capital Centre, the Wolfpack earned a 68-67 win against rival North Carolina.

NC State, which has 10 ACC championships, and UNC — which has 18 ACC titles — will play at 8:30 p.m. ET Saturday night in the nation’s capital. The Wolfpack and Tar Heels haven’t played in the ACC tournament since 2012.

Jimmy Garoppolo is on the move again.

The quarterback agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams on Friday, according to multiple reports.

Garoppolo, 32, was officially cut by the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday after one disappointing season with the team. He signed a three-year, $72.75 million contract last offseason, but the remainder of his guaranteed money was voided when he was suspended two games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Garoppolo started six games and threw seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. After coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler were fired at midseason, new coach Antonio Pierce benched the veteran in favor of rookie Aidan O’Connell.

In Los Angeles, Garoppolo returns to the NFC West after spending six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He now slots in as the backup to Matthew Stafford. The Rams selected Stetson Bennett in the fourth round of last year’s NFL draft, but the Georgia product was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list in September. The team has not provided any details regarding his absence.

All things Rams: Latest Los Angeles Rams news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

Brett Rypien had to fill in as the starter for a November loss to the Green Bay Packers when Stafford was sidelined by a thumb injury. He threw for just 130 yards in the 20-3 defeat, after which the Rams would win seven of their last eight games to push into the playoffs.

‘I do think it’s important, as we saw in Green Bay, if we can have a backup quarterback that can help us win a game because losing the Green Bay game could have hurt us [in the playoff hunt],’ Rams general manager Les Snead said in January.

USMNT returns to action next week in Concacaf Nations League play.

Lionel Messi has been ruled out for Inter Miami’s game Saturday at D.C. United, a matchup featuring a team tied atop the Eastern Conference against one that is unbeaten in its first three matches. So, with the soccer G.O.A.T. sitting out another Inter Miami game, fans will have to settle for following all of the other intriguing action taking place around MLS this weekend.

In all, there are five teams currently tied atop the Eastern Conference standings, and all five are in action on Saturday. Road warriors CF Montréal — fresh off a thrilling win over Inter Miami on Sunday — have six games before their first home game, with the next test coming at Soldier Field against the Chicago Fire (2 p.m. ET). The defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew host the surprising New York Red Bulls (7:30 p.m. ET). Another surprise, Toronto FC — last season’s Wooden Spoon winners — visit Yankee Stadium to play early-season disappointment New York City FC (7:30 p.m. ET).

In an added bonus for soccer-football fans, all of this weekend’s MLS games are free to watch on Apple TV.

MLS game of the week: Columbus Crew vs. New York Red Bulls

Date and time: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET
TV/streaming info: MLS Season Pass

The defending MLS Cup champion Crew face the pesky Red Bulls in a showdown of two early season first-place teams. The Crew were expected to compete for a title. The Red Bulls, meanwhile, were pegged to at least extend the longest playoff streak in major North American pro sports (currently at 14 seasons), but to expect an MLS Cup run likely would have been a bridge too far. Well, three weeks into the young season and the Red Bulls are one of the league’s most pleasant surprises. Newcomer Emil Forsberg — a Swedish international who spent the last 10 seasons at RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga — has been sensational so far, scoring his first New York Red Bulls goal last week. The Crew continue to be a wagon, so this will be a good litmus test for RBNY.

Just for kicks: MLS news, notes and tidbits

How are MLS teams faring in Concacaf Champions Cup play? In a word, uffdah. It was a brutal Round of 16 for MLS teams against their Liga MX rivals. The Philadelphia Union, Orlando City and FC Cincinnati were all eliminated by an aggregate score of 12-1. The silver lining for MLS is that two of the Round of 16 matchups featured two MLS teams against each other, with Inter Miami dispatching Nashville SC and the Columbus Crew eliminating the Houston Dynamo. Elsewhere, the New England Revolution cruised by L.D. Alajuelense of Costa Rica. Good news: That gives MLS three squads in the quarterfinals. Bad news: All three must go up against Liga MX competition. Cue the calls from fans for MLS to allow for increased roster investment in its teams.

USMNT takes aim at Nations League three-peat: The U.S. men’s national team will face Jamaica on Thursday, March 21 in a Concacaf Nations League semifinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (7 p.m. ET on Paramount+ and Univision). The winner will advance to Sunday’s final and play the winner of the other semifinal between Mexico and Panama. The USMNT has won both editions of the Concacaf Nations League in 2021 and 2023. On Wednesday, coach Gregg Berhalter named his 23-player roster for what the USMNT hopes will be a third consecutive Concacaf Nations League title.

Jesús Ferreira nearing goal-scoring milestone: The FC Dallas (and occasional USMNT) striker could become the youngest player to reach 50 regular-season MLS goals if he scores this weekend against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Ferreira (23 years and 83 days old on Saturday) would become just the third player in league history to reach 50 career goals before turning 24. The others were Diego Fagúndez (then of the New England Revolution; 23 years and 256 days old) and Valentín ‘Taty’ Castellanos (then of New York City FC; 23 years, 287 days old).

Leagues Cup groups and bracket revealed: The bracket for the Leagues Cup — the 47-team competition pitting MLS and Liga MX clubs against each other in a World Cup-style tournament — was announced on Thursday. The tournament kicks off on July 26, with Atlanta United vs. D.C. United and Orlando City vs. CF Montréal doing the honors as the opening games for a five-match slate that day. Three 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup spots will be on the line in the tournament. Inter Miami are the defending champions.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – With the largest purse of the PGA Tour season – a cool $25 million – the Players Championship isn’t the week to be trunk-slamming on Friday. Yet the Pete Dye design at TPC Sawgrass exposes any weaknesses in one’s game and it sent several of the best players in golf packing.

That included the likes of Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris and Jordan Spieth.

On the flip side, Aaron Rai, who lives locally, came up clutch, stuffing his approach at 18 inside 2 feet and brushed in the birdie putt to make the cut on the number. Min Woo Lee canned a 60 foot, 1 inch putt at 17, the second-longest putt made on the hole since 2003, which gave him a cushion to make bogey at 18 and also finish on the cutline. In all, the field needed to shoot 1-under 143 or better to earn a spot into the weekend at the Tour’s flagship event.

Just two golfers didn’t finish their second rounds before darkness set in Friday night.

Justin Thomas (1 over)

Round 1: 1-under 71

Round 2: 2-over 74

Justin Thomas, the 2021 Players champ, had never missed the cut at this event in eight previous starts. He made seven birdies in the first round but made too many mistakes, including just 2-for-7 scrambling in posting his 71. On Friday, the putter let him down as he ranked 139th out of 144 in SG: Putting, missing several putts in the 5-10-foot range. Thomas has four top-12 finishes this season but also missed the cut in two of his last three starts.

Jordan Spieth (2 over)

Round 1: 2-over 74

Round 2: Even-par 72

Spieth continued to struggle at TPC Sawgrass. He missed the cut for the sixth time in 10 starts at the Players. Spieth struggled mightily off the tee in both rounds, hitting just 13 fairways for two rounds.

It didn’t get much better from there as he ranked 141st in SG: Tee to Green on Thursday. His usually impressive short-game was off the mark as he only scrambled successfully on 4 of 14 attempts (T-134).

Justin Rose (3 over)

Round 1: 2-under 70

Round 2: 5-over 77

Rose straddled the cutline for most of the day but it ended poorly when he splashed two balls at 17 into the water. That resulted in a triple bogey and the damage was done. He sprinkled four more bogeys on the card on Friday. He missed the cut for the second week in a row.

Will Zalatoris (4 over)

Round 1: 1-over 73

Round 2: 3-over 75

Zalatoris was coming off a strong showing at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he finished T-4, and a T-2 at the Genesis Invitational before it. He had made his last four cuts and was perfect in three previous appearances at the Players. Add all of this up and he was considered one of the favorites. It wasn’t to be.

Zalatoris struggled SG: Around the Green (133rd) and SG: Putting (132nd) in the first round. On Friday, he struggled in SG: Off the Tee (141st) and SG: Tee to Green (132nd).

Ben An (5 over)

Round 1: 3-under 69

Round 2: 8-over 80

An started strongly with a 69 but it all went wrong on Friday. He was already going the wrong way when he dunked two in the water at 17 and made a quadruple-bogey 7. He ranked 143rd in SG: Tee to Green on Friday (-6.804).

His round on Friday isn’t even his worst score at TPC Sawgrass. He opened with 83 three years ago. Let’s just say the Pete Dye design likely isn’t one of his favorites.

An missed his first cut in eight starts this season. He entered the week ranked fifth in the FedEx Cup standings so he may have been due for a down week.

Keegan Bradley (6 over)

Round 1: Even-Par 72

Round 2: 2-over 74

Bradley missed the cut for the second straight year at the Players. His fate was sealed when he rinsed his tee shot at 17 and made triple-bogey. He’s missed the cut at two of the last three signature events.

Bradley doesn’t have to look far to figure out why he’s got the weekend off – his putting was dreadful. He lost over 4 ½ strokes to the field on the greens on Friday and ranked 142nd in the field in SG: Putting.

WrestleMania 40 is now three weeks away, and the match card for WWE’s premier event is already taking shape.

Ten matches have already been announced to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and more still could come in what is turning out to be a stacked card for the two-day event.

Headlining WrestleMania 40 is the rematch for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, but first the two stars will take part in a tag-team match on night one with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and WWE icon The Rock to determine the rules of the main event match.

With the exception of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, every title will be on the line, and the opponents for each of those matches are already known. There will also be the highly anticipated match between the Usos.
