Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance for Ring of Honor Friday, fueling speculation the former UFC and WWE star will be signing with AEW.

Rousey appeared at Ring of Honor’s show in Los Angeles, appearing as the tag team partner for Marina Shafir as the two faced off against Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena and Billie Starkz. Rousey entered the Kia Forum with her signature music of ‘Bad Reputation’ by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

The appearance came one day after Rousey made her debut at Wrestling Revolver, also teaming with Shafir against Athena and Starkz. That match would end in disqualification.

Will Ronda Rousey go to AEW?

The Ring of Honor show Rousey was in was taped after All Elite Wrestling’s ‘Rampage’ show, as the company has its pay-per-view, Full Gear, taking place Saturday in Los Angeles.

With Ring of Honor also owned by AEW owner Tony Kahn, wrestling fans have speculated if this means she will soon be the next star on the AEW roster. On Wednesday, Kahn said in a social media post that AEW ‘has agreed to terms with one of the world’s best wrestlers’ and they would be signing their contract at Full Gear.

Rousey last appeared for WWE in August after losing to Shayna Baszler in an MMA rules match at SummerSlam. After the loss, she said in an Instagram post that Baszler was ‘the reason I got into this business’ and she now had ‘no reason to stay,’ hinting that her wrestling career was over. The 36-year-old’s contract with WWE then ended.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — They kept making the play to get the chance to keep making plays, though even No. 2 Michigan would tell you it helped that Maryland couldn’t make the play it needed to make.

The Terrapins certainly had their chances until the end against the Wolverines. On another day, this might have been an upset. Instead, Michigan showed something as it won the football program’s 1,000th game and set up another showdown with Ohio State for the Big Ten East title.

Warning: This article includes graphic and disturbing accounts from the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel.

JERUSALEM — The first suggestion that Hamas terrorists committed acts of extreme sexual violence and rape against victims during their Oct. 7 rampage through southern Israel came on social media early on that fateful Saturday morning six weeks ago.

Two short videos, shared by the terrorists themselves, quickly emerged showing groups of cheering Palestinian men, some armed, in the streets of Gaza crowding around half-naked and bloodied young Israeli women.

In one clip, a woman later identified as German-Israeli citizen Shani Louk, 22, can be seen barely clothed lying unconscious in an unnatural position on the flatbed of a pickup as men spit and abuse her body while screaming ‘Allahu Akhbar.’

In another video, 19-year-old Israeli soldier Na’ama Levy is pulled from the back of a jeep by an armed gunman, her hands bound behind her back and  thick blood stains between her legs, as Palestinian men jeer at her.

Louk is now counted among the 1,200 people murdered that day, and Levy is thought to be one of an estimated 240 hostages, including babies and children, being held by the terror group inside the Palestinian enclave.

While the victims of gender-based crimes committed during that brutal attack have yet to come forward, either because they were murdered or kidnapped or are still reeling from the trauma, the Israeli police and Israel’s newly formed Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women believe sexual violence during the terror attack was widespread, systematic and even endorsed by the Islamic fundamentalist group’s religious and spiritual leaders as permissible during war.

Yet collecting the evidence for this intimate aspect of such a massive, multilevel terror attack, which sparked total chaos inside Israel and launched a full-scale war in the Gaza Strip, has proved challenging for criminal investigators. Those investigators hope to bring detailed charges against hundreds of Hamas terrorists now being held by Israel for their role in the assault and for women’s groups, who say that violent sexual crimes in war must be documented and remembered.

‘This is the biggest criminal case in Israel’s history,’ said David Katz, head of the Israeli police’s Lahav 443 criminal investigation’s cyber unit, which is investigating the criminal aspects of the mass atrocity.

‘We are dealing with thousands of murders and other crimes,’ he said. He described how the crime scene, which included more than 20 locations, among them army bases, civilian communities and a sprawling music festival not far from Israel’s border with Gaza, was an active combat zone for the first 48 hours following the attack, hampering police efforts to collect forensic and other evidence.

In the aftermath of the surprise attack, police said, the nation’s main focus was on collecting and identifying hundreds of badly mutilated and burned bodies as quickly as possible. Jewish burials are meant to take place immediately. And, although medical teams worked 24 hours a day in the days and weeks that followed, carefully photographing and documenting some of the worst injuries they said they’d ever seen, the typical process for sexual-based crimes was largely overlooked.

‘We’re still only in the initial phases of this investigation,’ said Katz, describing how his team was working to collect statements from thousands of survivors. It was also going to examine more than 60,000 videos taken by the terrorists on phones and bodycams and other footage taken by victims, first responders, CCTV cameras and dashcams.

‘At this time, there are no known living victims, and many of the surviving victims still cannot speak about what happened to them,’ said Katz, adding that much of the details were under a court-authorized gag order and could not be shared with the public. But he estimated that there were ‘multiple’ cases of sexual violence.

At Tuesday’s briefing, the police screened one eyewitness account of a gang rape that she said took place at the Nova Music Festival, where more than 300 people were brutally murdered and thousands were injured by hundreds of heavily armed Hamas terrorists.

The witness, identified only by the initial ‘S,’ recounted on camera that while she was hiding from the terrorists, she saw a group of them pass a woman with long brown hair among them.

‘I understood they were raping her,’ S said. ‘They were passing her from one person to the next. She was alive and standing on her feet. She was bleeding from her back.’

S then described how one of the terrorists sliced off the woman’s breast and began playing around with it. Another, the witness said, shot the woman in the head while he was still penetrating her.

‘He did not even lift up his pants and shot her in the head,’ S said, adding that she spied another terrorist haul a naked, dead woman over his shoulder and walk off with her. Another, she said, cut off someone’s head and was walking around with it like a trophy.

Additionally, the police shared graphic photographs and video footage from the festival showing women, charred and bloody, their underwear visibly ripped and their legs spread apart.

Videotaped interrogations of some of the captured terrorists show them confessing that they had orders to murder, rape and kidnap Israeli civilians. One suspect told Israeli interrogators he and his men had received religious permission to kill children ‘because they’ll grow up to be soldiers’ and to decapitate ‘to sow fear among the Israelis.’

First responders from both the Israeli military and the country’s civilian services have described in detail the disturbing brutality and atrocities carried out by an estimated 3,000 Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists who entered Israel Oct. 7.

A commander with the Israeli army’s National Rescue Unit told journalists in the initial days after the attack that he had found multiple bodies of dead women who had been stripped naked. In one case, on Kibbutz Be’eri, Col. (Res) Golan Vach, said he found two women tied together on the same bed with no clothes on.

‘I don’t know what happened to them before they were killed,’ he said. ‘But I do know that most regular women go to bed wearing pajamas.’

In another case, a soldier from the army’s special forces unit who was sent to search for survivors on a kibbutz told one media outlet he found the dead bodies of two young girls together in one room.

‘There was a teenage girl, 14 or 15. She was lying on the floor, on her stomach, her pants were pulled down, and she was half naked. Her legs were spread out, wide open, and there was the remains of sperm on her back,’ he said. ‘Someone executed her straight after he brutally raped her.

‘It was like a slap in the face,’ the soldier said. ‘It was the first time I realized that we are not acting against terrorists here, we are acting against savages.’

In the morgue, too, those working to identify the dead and prepare their bodies for burial spoke about brutalities consistent with rape and sexual assault.

‘We saw evidence of rape,’ Shari, who works with a team of female volunteers tasked with cleaning the bodies of murdered women, told Fox News Digital in a previous interview. ‘Pelvises were broken, and it probably takes a lot to break a pelvis. … And this was also among grandmothers down to small children. These are things we saw with our own eyes.’

Speaking this week on a Zoom panel organized by the Maimonides Society at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy, chair of Israel’s newly formed Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women, said her team had also been working to compile a database of gender-based atrocities ‘to ensure that the Oct. 7 victims of sexual and other violence against women are never forgotten and that their stories are adequately told.’

Elkayam-Levy, a legal expert from Hebrew University added, ‘We established the commission on the eighth day of the war as more and more evidence of gruesome crimes against women and children emerged,’ she told the panel.

She said that even though some of Hamas’ crimes, which were broadcast in real-time on social media, ‘showed clear violations of international law and brutal crimes committed against women and children,’ there was little international condemnation.

‘Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to call for recognition and action,’ Elkayam-Levy said. ‘We also realized that these crimes must be documented and brought to the attention of the international community.’

‘This is not an isolated event in history where crimes against women can be ignored. What we’ve seen in Israel were rape and gender-based crimes under clear orders and under full control.

‘It was rape unto death, rape as massacre, rape and crimes made to kill and torture women, using them and their bodies as an instrument to force exile of those communities in Israel. It was rape to be seen and heard by others, women’s and girls’ bodies used as spectacles of victory, trophies of war.’

Tens of thousands of Israeli supporters marched from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem this week in protest of government inaction on rescuing hostages.

Families of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas were the focal point of the support as the procession marched over the course of three days.

The march is set to end on Saturday in front of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence.

There remain up to 238 Hamas hostages in Gaza, and 10 of them are believed to be Americans.

After the protest, the families of Israeli hostages are set to meet with war cabinet Minister Benny Gantz and cabinet observer Minister Gadi Eisenkot.

The families have demanded to meet with Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and cabinet observer Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer — but such requests have been met with silence.

During the final leg of the journey, protesters were joined by Opposition Leader Yair Lapid.

Some government officials have attempted to reach out and express sympathy with the march to mixed results.

‘I knew it wouldn’t be easy to come here. I knew I would get yelled at,’ cabinet minister Miki Zohar said while engaging with protesters shouting him down.

‘But it doesn’t matter. I came here to tell you, as clearly as possible, that we will do everything – everything – to bring everyone home,’ he continued.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry claims more than 11,200 Gazans have been killed in the fighting, though they do not distinguish between Palestinian civilians and Hamas terrorists.

Fox News Digital’s Anders Hagstrom, Louis Casiano and Elizabeth Pritchett contributed to this report.

President Biden on Saturday called for a two-state solution for Israel and Palestinians in the Middle East, but one that is ‘free from Hamas’ as he put forward his plan for peace in the region in the wake of the Hamas terror attack against Israel.

‘The Palestinian people deserve a state of their own and a future free from Hamas,’ he said.

Biden used the op-ed in The Washington Post to argue that the world faces ‘an inflection point’ in the Middle East, and stressed that the U.S. stands with Israel in the face of the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists.

But he also said he was ‘heartbroken’ by the images out of Gaza in the wake of the Israeli military response as it seeks to wipe out Hamas. Biden said the goal should now be to ‘break the cycle of unceasing violence.’

‘This much is clear: A two-state solution is the only way to ensure the long-term security of both the Israeli and Palestinian people. Though right now it may seem like that future has never been further away, this crisis has made it more imperative than ever,’ he said.

‘A two-state solution — two peoples living side by side with equal measures of freedom, opportunity and dignity — is where the road to peace must lead. Reaching it will take commitments from Israelis and Palestinians, as well as from the United States and our allies and partners,’ he said. ‘That work must start now.’

He says that in order to achieve that, there must be certain principles as a foundation — including that Gaza cannot be used as a platform for terrorism, there can be no forcible displacement, no ‘reoccupation’ or blockade and no reduction in the territory.

‘As we strive for peace, Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited under a single governance structure, ultimately under a revitalized Palestinian Authority, as we all work toward a two-state solution,’ he said. ‘I have been emphatic with Israel’s leaders that extremist violence against Palestinians in the West Bank must stop and that those committing the violence must be held accountable. The United States is prepared to take our own steps, including issuing visa bans against extremists attacking civilians in the West Bank.’

In the meantime, Biden rejected the idea of a cease-fire, saying that to Hamas ‘every cease-fire is time they exploit to rebuild their stockpile of rockets, reposition fighters and restart the killing by attacking innocents again.’

‘An outcome that leaves Hamas in control of Gaza would once more perpetuate its hate and deny Palestinian civilians the chance to build something better for themselves,’ he said.

Biden has been facing pressure from the left of his party for his pro-Israel support, with a number of Democrats demanding calls for a cease-fire.

Biden on Wednesday, however, said that Israel’s military operation in Gaza will stop when Hamas ‘no longer maintains the capacity to murder, abuse, and do horrific things to the Israelis.’

StockCharts users can chart the Zweig Breadth Thrust for the S&P 1500 or any other index that has Advance-Decline Percent data. All we have to do its convert the Zweig Breadth Thrust levels to their equivalents using Advance-Decline Percent.

The Zweig Breadth Thrust is based on percent advances for the NYSE. It is Advances / (Advances + Declines). If there are 800 advances and 1200 declines, then this indicator would be .40 (800/(800+1200)). If there were 1230 advances and 770 declines, then this indicator would be .615 (1230/(1230+770)).

The chart above shows the key levels for the Zweig Breadth Thrust. The indicator triggers bullish when it moves from below .40 to above .615 within 10 days.

Now we can convert these levels into Advance-Decline Percent levels. Advance-Decline Percent is the percentage of advancing stocks less the percentage of declining stocks. There are 1500 stocks in this example. 600 advances would be 40% of 1500 and 900 declines would be 60%. 40% Advances less 60% declines would be -20% for Advance-Decline Percent. Thus, AD% must dip below -20% for a potential Zweig Breadth Thrust.

If there are 923 advances (61.5%) and 770 declines (38.5%), then Advance-Decline Percent would be +23% (61.5% less 38.5%). Thus, AD% must move from below 20% to above 23% within 10 days to trigger a Zweig Breadth Thrust.

Chartists interested in charting the Zweig Breadth Thrust can do so for the following indexes with Advance-Decline Percent.

S&P 500 AD% ($SPXADP)Nasdaq 100 AD% ($NDXADP)S&P MidCap 400 AD% ($MIDADP)S&P SmallCap 600 AD% ($SMLADP)S&P 1500 AD% ($SUPADP)

The chart below shows the Zweig Breadth Thrust using S&P 1500 AD$ ($SUPADP). Personally, I would stick with the S&P 1500 because it is the broadest of the five indexes. Zweig used NYSE breadth data in the 80s because it was the “Big Board”. NYSE breadth captured a broad swath of the stock market. Today is different because the Nasdaq is now the place to be.

TrendInvestorPro tested S&P 1500 Zweig Breadth Thrust signals on the S&P 500 SPDR (SPY). This indicator is designed to identify sudden and sharp reversals that can foreshadow extended moves. It is not used for timing exits so we used a trend-following indicator to time the exit. Results are promising with a 67% win rate and a much lower drawdown than buy-and-hold.

WASHINGTON – Five minutes and 35 seconds into Wednesday’s game between Dallas and Washington, the Mavericks had 23 points – and All-Star guard Luka Doncic was responsible for 21 of them.

He scored 13 points coming on two mid-range jumpers, two 3-pointers ad three free throws, and he delivered three assists, two going to Derrick Jones Jr. on corner 3s.

Doncic finished with 26 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in what looked like an effortless performance in the Mavs’ 130-117 victory.

It required effort, but Doncic made it look easy, and that’s an important takeaway from Doncic’s impressive start to the 2023-24 season.

With a revamped roster, offense is easier for Doncic now. He averages 30.7 points, 8.1 assists, 7.8 rebounds and shoots 50.2% from the field and 42% on 3-pointers. The Mavs are 9-3.

It’s a much different story now that it was a year ago when Doncic was critical of himself, his usage rate was high and Mavs coach Jason Kidd was concerned about Doncic’s minutes and workload.

Doncic still plays significant minutes (34.7 per game) and his usage rate is high, but the Mavs added Grant Williams, drafted Dereck Lively, Tim Hardaway is strong off the bench and the Mavs are just deeper with better shooters this season. Plus, Kyrie Irving was still with Brooklyn a year ago.

The Mavs have the No. 2 offense, scoring 120.5 points per 100 possessions, and are No. 2 in pace, pushing the basketball and searching for open shots early in the shot clock.

Even though the Mavs were 5-11 with Doncic and Irving on the court following the in-season trade, they liked what the duo provided, especially offensively. With more familiarity between the two and roster improvements, Dallas’ coaching staff envisioned a productive offense.

They put Irving and Doncic in different spots on the court and designed plays where they didn’t always need to have the ball to aid the offense. It’s working.

Doncic, 24, finished eighth in the MVP voting last season, was fifth in 2021-22 and sixth in 2020-21. If the Mavs keep winning and Doncic keeps playing like this, he’ll be in the mix in April when votes are due.

Here’s USA TODAY Sports’ early-season look at MVP candidates:

NBA MVP power rankings

10. Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant

2023-24 stats: 30.1 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.9 apg, 1.2 bpg, 51.4% FG, 45.5% 3-point FG, 86.1% FT

Durant is just hoopin’ like he likes to do. The Suns need to get healthy and start winning games for him or one of his teammates to stay in the MVP discussion.

9. Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

2023-24 stats: 28.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 6.0 apg, 2.6 spg, 51.1% FG, 91.9% FT

He has established himself as one of the league’s best players and has the young Thunder ready for a serious playoff push.

8. Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey

2023-24 stats: 27.6 ppg, 6.7 apg, 5.1 rpg, 48.6% FG, 42.9% 3-point FG, 94.5% FT

We’re watching a star emerge in real time – 50 points on 20-for-32 shooting and seven assists, five rebounds and three blocks in a victory against Indiana on Sunday was special.

7. Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry

2023-24 stats: 32.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.9 apg, 48.8% FG, 44.6% 3-point FG, 93% FT

Curry’s sore right knee has sidelined him for a few games, but in his 11 games, he has been fantastic.

6. Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton

2023-24 stats: 24.7 ppg, 12.5 apg, 4.2 rpg, 1.1 spg, 52.8% FG, 43.6% 3-point FG

Haliburton is the leader of the NBA’s best offense, has been in double-digits in assists in nine of 10 games and is shooting lights out.

5. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards

2023-24 stats: 26.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.2 apg, 46.7% FG, 37.1% 3-point FG, 82.8% FT

His emergence as an MVP candidate has been percolating since last season, and his campaign is heating up now, especially with the Timberwolves winning games.

4. Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic

2023-24 stats: 30.7 ppg, 8.1 apg, 7.8 rpg, 50.2 FG%, 42% 3-point FG, 76.1% FT

As Doncic gets older and wiser on the court, we’re seeing his offense expand, especially with this Mavs group.

3. Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum

2023-24 stats: 28.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 51.6% FG, 39.8% 3-point FG

The Celtics are 9-2, Tatum is shooting the ball at an outstanding rate and he had 29 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in Boston’s win against Philadelphia on Wednesday – without Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis available for Boston.

2. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid

2023-24 stats: 31.9 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 5.8 apg, 50.4% FG, 87.3% FT

Last season’s MVP is off to another impressive start, and the Sixers have the victories to back it up with the Eastern Conference’s second-best record at 8-3.

1. Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic

2023-24 stats: 30 ppg, 13.9 rpg, 8.4 apg, 57.9% FG, 80.3% FT

The two-time MVP (2021, 2022) and 2023 Finals MVP continues to prove why he is considered the best player in the league.

Worth watching: Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo; Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell; Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox; Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker

The Cincinnati Bengals are putting the ball in the hands of J.B. – backup quarterback Jake Browning – after starting quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending torn ligament in his right wrist.

Burrow injured the wrist on his throwing hand during the second quarter of the Bengals’ 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on ‘Thursday Night Football.’ Burrow connected with running back Joe Mixon for a four-yard touchdown pass, but Burrow clutched his wrist after the throw and looked visibly frustrated on the sidelines before heading back to the locker room.

Browning replaced Burrow under center and completed 8-of-14 passes for 68 yards and one touchdown. His short two-yard pass to Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase in the end zone was Browning’s first career NFL touchdown.

Here is everything you need to know about Browning:

NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.

Who is Jake Browning?

Jake Browning was born April 11, 1996 and is currently 27 years old. Browning attended Folsom High School in Folsom, California, and went on to play quarterback at the University of Washington from 2015–2018. Browning is currently the Huskies’ all-time passing leader (12,296 yards).

Has Jake Browning played in the NFL?

Browning doesn’t have much NFL experience prior to taking over for Burrow.

Browning signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and spent two seasons with the franchise, mostly on the practice squad. Browning was waived by the Vikings in August 2021 and signed with the Bengals practice squad days later. Browning beat out Trevor Siemian for the Bengals backup job in training camp this season.

He took his first regular-season snap during the final minutes of the Bengals’ Week 1 blowout loss to the Cleveland Browns, where Browning went 0-1 in passing attempts. Browning came in relief for Burrow in the Bengals’ 34-20 loss to the Ravens on ‘Thursday Night Football’ in Week 11.

The Bengals’ matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 26 will mark Browning’s first career NFL start.

Joe Burrow out for season

Bengals coach Zac Taylor told reporters Friday that Burrow suffered a season-ending torn ligament in his right wrist during Cincinnati’s loss on Thursday night. The injury to his throwing hand will keep him out the rest of the season.

“He had an acute injury (Thursday),” Taylor said. “He tore a ligament in his wrist that will likely require surgery and require him to be out for the rest of the season. We’re still gathering more information on that, but that seems to be where it’s headed right now.”

Burrow injured his right wrist in the second quarter. He checked out of the game after a short touchdown throw to running back Joe Mixon with 5:49 remaining in the second period and didn’t return. Burrow clutched his wrist following the TD throw and was seen grimacing on the sideline trying to grip and throw a football before he headed to the locker room. — Tyler Dragon

What did Joe Burrow say about Jake Browning?

In his press conference announcing his injury, Joe Burrow said he has full confidence Browning will lead the 5-5 Bengals to the postseason: ‘They are going to keep fighting, get wins, make the playoffs.’

‘Jake is going to play great,’ Burrow said. ‘Jake played really well yesterday when he got his chance and that was off of no practice, so he’s going to get better and better. I’m excited to watch him too.’

Burrow continued: ‘We watched the tape together. Just trying to give him any insight on things I’ve experienced… give him as much or as little as he wants. He’s going to do a great job. We are very similar people and that’s why I’m such good friends with him. He’s very even-keeled. No moment is too big for him. He went on ‘Thursday Night Football’ on a short week with no practice and played well.’

Bengals quarterback depth chart: Who’s up next?

Burrow, who signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension in September to become the NFL’s highest-paid player, is the Bengals starting quarterback, followed by backup Browning. Then, it’s AJ McCarron up next on the quarterback depth chart.

Cincinnati signed McCarron, the Bengals’ original fifth-round draft pick in 2014, to the practice squad in September. McCarron last played in the NFL in 2020 during a stint with the Houston Texans and has not thrown an NFL pass since the beginning of the 2020 season. He did, however, start for the XFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks earlier this year and led the league with 24 TD passes.

The former girlfriend of Tiger Woods has dismissed her lawsuits against the famed golfer and the trust that he established for his residence in Florida, saying she was ”never a victim of sexual harassment or sexual abuse at the hands of Tiger Woods” even though court filings on her behalf said otherwise.

Erica Herman dismissed her lawsuits with prejudice – one against Woods himself and one against the trust claiming she was kicked out of his house in violation of an oral tenancy agreement to stay there for several more years. She claimed $30 million in damages because of it and later filed a suit against Woods himself over a disputed non-disclosure agreement between the former lovers.

“Erica Herman states that she was never a victim of sexual harassment or sexual abuse at the hands of Tiger Woods or any of his agents and it is her position that she never asserted a claim for such,” said her voluntary dismissal notice filed recently. “All parties shall bear their own fees and costs.”

It’s not clear if this new statement of hers and her dismissals of the lawsuits are part of a settlement with Woods. Her attorney, Benjamin Hodas, didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.

Where did the sexual harassment allegations come from?

Previous court documents from Hodas, filed on Herman’s behalf, accused Woods of sexual harassment. For example, in a document filed in May, entitled “plaintiff’s response,” it went into detail about Woods’ alleged sexual harassment against Herman, the plaintiff.

“When the sexual relationship ended, she was kicked out of her home.,” the document said. “Mr. Woods does not own the house; it is owned by a trust. Ms. Herman had a tenancy agreement with the trust. That agreement was broken, and Mr. Woods and his agents have taken the position that this happened because of the end of the sexual relationship between Ms. Herman and Mr. Woods. In other words, the landlord made the availability of her housing conditional on her having sexual relationship with a co-tenant. That conduct amounts to sexual harassment under federal and Florida fair housing laws.”

What else did the documents say?

The same filing from May noted Woods was Herman’s boss at a restaurant in Florida.

“On Mr. Woods’s own portrayal of events, he imposed an NDA on her as a condition to keep her job when she began having a sexual relationship with him,” the filing states. “A boss imposing different work conditions on his employee because of their sexual relationship is sexual harassment.”

A Florida judge in May threw out her lawsuit against Woods, sending it to private arbitration pursuant to the disputed NDA. Herman appealed that ruling with a 53-page document in September that said the trial court “incorrectly applied recent federal statutory law that prohibits compelled arbitration of disputes that relate to sexual harassment, as this dispute does.”

Herman’s dismissal gives up her appeal and her related action against the trust. Woods’ attorney denied there was an oral tenancy agreement or harassment and described Herman as a ‘jilted’ ex-girlfriend.

The news came as no surprise.

But it was tough to digest nonetheless.

Unable to find a trade partner, the Milwaukee Brewers instead had their hand forced Friday and non-tendered right-hander Brandon Woodruff, one of the best pitchers and most engaging individuals in franchise history.

The decision came as a result of the shoulder surgery Woodruff underwent on Oct. 13, a procedure that could sideline the 30-year-old for the entirety of the 2024 season.

Woodruff would have been due a salary north of $12 million and become a free agent heading into 2025 – an untenable scenario for a Brewers team that might well be heading toward a rebuild.

HOT STOVE UPDATES: MLB free agency: Ranking and tracking the top players available.

‘Today we had to make a very difficult decision relating to one of the best pitchers and human beings in franchise history,’ general manager Matt Arnold said. ‘Throughout his 10 seasons in the organization, Brandon Woodruff has represented the Brewers with class, kindness, heart and toughness.

‘He is recognized as a tremendous teammate, both on the field and in the community, where he and his wife, Jonie, have positively impacted so many lives around them.

‘We remain very open to his return to Milwaukee, and regardless of what uniform he wears next, Woody will always be a member of the Brewers family.’

The Brewers did tender contracts to nine players – shortstop Willy Adames, first baseman-outfielder Jake Bauers (acquired in a trade earlier Friday), outfielder Tyrone Taylor, right-handers Corbin Burnes, Adrian Houser, Joel Payamps, Devin Williams and Bryse Wilson and left-hander Hoby Milner.

In addition to Woodruff, Milwaukee also non-tendered first baseman Rowdy Tellez and right-hander J.C. Mejía.

Non-tender of Brandon Woodruff ends pitcher’s nearly 10-year run with Brewers organization

But the big news is the departure of Woodruff, who was one of the longest-tenured players in the organization having been drafted out of Mississippi State in the 11th round in 2014.

He went on to become one of the Brewers’ best starting pitchers, twice being named an all-star while also authoring one of the team’s biggest moments when he homered off Clayton Kershaw to help spark a victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the 2018 National League Championship Series.

Woodruff’s best two seasons came in 2021 and 2022 before he was bitten by the injury bug and forced to miss most of this past season – first with a subscapular strain that limited him to just two starts until August and then with an anterior capsule tear that forced him out of his scheduled Game 2 start in the NL wild-card playoff series.

In 11 starts in 2023, Woodruff went 5-1 with a 2.28 earned run average, WHIP of 0.82 and 74 strikeouts over 67 innings.

His complete-game shutout of the Miami Marlins on Sept. 11 at American Family Field was one of the Brewers’ two best pitching performances of the season along with the eight no-hit innings spun by Burnes against the New York Yankees one day earlier.

Woodruff’s final appearance for the Brewers came in Miami on Sept. 23, when he exited after five ineffective innings in which his fastball velocity had dipped noticeably.

Brandon Woodruff said this offseason: ‘I would love to stay in Milwaukee’

He went 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA and WHIP of 1.05 in 130 career appearances (115 starts) and struck out 788 in 680⅓ innings with the Brewers.

Barring any future reunions, it’s a tough way to split up for both player and team.

‘Let’s make this clear – I love Milwaukee and the organization, all the people in the organization from top to bottom,’ Woodruff told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, part of the USA TODAY Network, on Oct. 31. ‘Look, I would love to stay in Milwaukee. I realize I’m in a unique situation. I would love for it to work out. But I also realize I’m in a weird position. Because I’m due another raise and it’s a lot of money and teams aren’t going to necessarily want to pay one year not to pitch, right?

‘So, the obvious thing is you either work something out longer term, or I could potentially be a free agent. That’s kind of plain, cut-and-dried. That’s where I’m at. But my hope is that I will be in Milwaukee – and not just for a couple years, but for a long, long period of time.’

Neither the departures of Tellez nor Mejía – who was twice suspended for PED use while with the Brewers – were surprising.

The same could be said for Milwaukee’s tenders, although whether Adames, Burnes and perhaps Williams remain with the Brewers could be up for discussion this winter depending on whether they decide to go into a full-scale rebuild under new manager Pat Murphy.
